Action learning
Action Learning can be defined as the process by which individuals come together regularly to share experiences, learn from each other and provide a network of ongoing support for implementing learning and change.
Reg Revans (the man credited with the creation of Action Learning) most often used the process to bring together diverse individuals with different challenges in order to gain a maximum of different perspectives to help deal with the challenge. In today’s world action learning has extended to include any active process where learners come together to work on their individual or shared issues in a largely self-managed way. The emphasis is on action i.e. looking for successful ideas and practices from each other that can be rapidly adopted to move situations forward.

The TNO establishes the framework of action learning as part of helping implement learning in the workplace. Often we are involved in facilitating action learning groups at their outset until they are able to run their own ongoing process. We will also be involved in providing periodic skills and benchmarking input to action learning groups and coaching individuals who need additional support and help.
